The Friends board of directors meets on the first Tuesday of each month, 9:30 a.m.
President: Alison Rilling. Volunteer for annual plant sale and Gardening For Life since 2013. Has tried Honey Bees & Butterflies but always gets self back to garden. Writer and former medical librarian.
Vice-President: Ruth Courtnell. Volunteer in admissions, gift shop,
and special events…love Green Halloween! Enjoy using finance
and admin skills for nonprofits. Cape Cod native who wants all kids
to learn the shore from the heart.
Secretary: Julie O’Neil. CCMNH Office Manager 2005-2013.
At same time was managing payroll, paying bills, co-producing
Tidings, announcing Museum programs, sending out publicity
notices and photographing for CCMNH.
Treasurer: Terry Cordner. Serves as interim Treasurer and Membership Manager of Friends, and previously served as Secretary. He has been Treasurer of the Brewster Men’s Club for the last 5 years. Terry is a retired attorney and corporate vice president.
Immediate Past President: Bill Barber. Served as a Field Guide for many years. More recently has worked the Admissions Desk and as a Shift Manager. Produced a series of videos for the museum depicting a visual history of Cape Cod.
Alice Berry. Long-time museum front desk volunteer and long-time
Friend and Board member. Chaired flea markets, helps with plant sales. Formerly marketing manager for computer manufacturer.
Anne Best. Volunteer at admissions desk and gift shop.
Retired Special Education teacher with focus on behavior and
Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Fred Budreski. Involvement with the Museum and the Friends
spans 15 years.Current Field Guide and Shift Manager.
Former Museum Board Member (2 terms). Former Friends
President, and currently Member at Large.
Jan Evans. Volunteer with Gardening For Life, annual speaker
series and plant sale. Retired college professor of philosophy
and integrated humanities.
Lois Katanik. Retired to the Cape 4 years ago from Northern Va.
Volunteers in gift shop and just completed 1st year as Director
at Large with Friends of CCMNH.
Myles Marcus. Retired high school teacher and administrator. 20 year
volunteer as field guide, exhibit docent, shift mgr. and whale and shark program presenter. Past president of Friends. Museum trustee 12 yrs., program coordinator 7 yrs., interim director.
Joan Nickerson. Native Cape Codder ; began volunteering at museum in 2002. Served on the Friends’ board before; decided time to serve again. Have led many family field walks to/on Wing Island; more recent years spent in the aquarium, especially at the tide pool. Have also participated in many other of the museum’s various activities. Enjoy other volunteers and staff here, who come from all walks of life. Would like to encourage more girls and young women to become scientists.
Louise Vivona-Miller. UMass-Amherst graduate in chemical engineering. In her life prior to Cape Cod, she spent her career in the pharmaceutical industry as a research engineer and compliance manager with federal regulations. She has been a field guide at CCMNH since 2015. She looks forward to being an at-large board member.
